I’m a long-time customer of Panera Bread. Not necessarily the best food of all-time but certainly consistent and reliable. Not to mention they have one of the best loyalty programs around, in my opinion. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I popped in to a nearby store to pick-up some lunch, and noticed a pretty significant change in some of their food packaging.
Now, I should mentioned I got my order to-go, so I’m not totally sure the food is presented in the same fashion for dine-in customers. I also haven’t noticed any changes in how the sandwiches are packaged; this is for a salad I ordered. But I really, really like this new packaging. Here are a couple of reasons why:
- It’s eco-friendly. This is a big one in my book, and a testament to any company’s efforts to do something good for the environment. Once I was finished eating I cleaned out the inside (as best as I could), broke it down, and deposited into the recyle bin at work.
- You can see inside. Granted, the old packaging allowed for customers to see their dish inside, too, but this one is just way more cuter.
Overall I really enjoy the new presentation here at Panera. I’ll be interested to see if there are any more major changes as it relates to this in the near future.
