Glass Containers Have High Appeal Among Consumers

I recently stumbled upon this interesting infographic speaking to the appeal of products in glass packaging, among a rather large percentage of consumers. The data’s a couple of years old now, but I bet the general sentiment is still pretty close to the same.

GlassInfographSo…
Food?
Beverages?
Cleaning supplies?
Household items?

What’s your take on this? Do you perceive products housed in glass packaging to be of a higher quality? More esteemed? I’m almost surprised at the findings here, because I assume it costs alot more to produce glass than plastic (but I’m pretty ignorant to this), so would you be willing to pay more for products in glass packaging?

Thanks to Packaging Diva on Pinterest for originally sharing this.

  1. Food for sure! Or candles, body/makeup etc. With Pinterest around, I can reuse them for projects =) But yes, sometimes it’s because I am tricked by marketing assuming it’s a better quality product.
